“Recommend the government doesn’t exempt religious organisations from discriminating against LGBTI people in Anti-Discrimination legislation”. I thoroughly approve. Don’t all religions have some sort of prohibition about homosexuality? Such old stuff. Odd that anyone would take such old feelings seriously now. Jewish people I know are basic Australians, yet I see the extreme Jewish people out and about too.

What is the word? Peak. Yes, the peak Jewish orgs need to pay more than lip service.

They have a zero-tolerance policy on anti-Semitism. Seems to be a case of double standards. Are you making apologies for them? Anyway, Saying no to homophobia is about saying no to homophobia, not “oh ok, we’ll say no, but we really mean yes”. It doesn’t work like that. No means no.

Personally I think this is childish and unwarranted.

No organisation or community has EVER gone from “homophobic” to “acceptance” over night. There has always been some with an organisation who harbour their old prejudices.

But that doesn’t mean there isn’t benefit in doing SOMEthing rather than NOthing…

All this cartoon tells me is that the author has been so personally hurt by some in the JCCV that his pain is too great to see any glimmer of good in their action towards inclusive behaviour.

From the American Psychiatric Association web site:

"The American Psychiatric Association opposes any psychiatric treatment, such as “reparative” or “conversion” therapy, which is based upon the assumption that homosexuality per se is a mental disorder, or based upon a prior assumption that the patient should change his/ her homosexual orientation.”

When Miriam Grossman is able to comprehend and act in accordance with this understanding of the professional body concerned with her field of practice I will begin to take her seriously.

She was a UCLA campus doctor. She had 10+ years on the campus to have her heart broken by failed PC policies. Please read her book “You’re teaching our Children What?” before you throw stones. You are questioning the information from the U.S. Center for Disease Control and the American Medical Association. There is nothing more valid than information coming from those institutions.
